Film = Theatre + Art + Music
The idea of doing Theatre/Art Appreciation "through film" came to me, because I was teaching Film&Drama class. Since nowadays we are all familiar with many movies, it was easy to discuss the issues of dramatic composition using the popular film. I thought I can make it back from the Terminator to Aristotle..."Man with the Camera" (1929): Film Language and Film Analysis. Dramatic analysis and use of the 6 categories (Poetics) in film studies. "Motion pictures": visual composition on the screen and history of fine art. Music in movies (sound).
